We are seeking an Automation & Maintenance Engineer to provide technical solutions and support for our maintenance processes. This individual will have hands-on experience with machinery and equipment technologies, equipment transfer, and Lean manufacturing tools and methodologies. The role requires strong analytical skills to review flow diagrams, equipment layout, and assembly methods to maximize efficiency and improve designs for greater feasibility and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement mechanical, electrical, vision, and inspection improvements on production equipment.
- Create and implement preventative and corrective maintenance routines and procedures.
- Coordinate and lead continuous improvement projects (Kaizen, one-piece flow, Kanban) with emphasis on error-proofing (Poka-Yoke).
- Troubleshoot, program, and extract data from PLCs for performance monitoring and to support metrics used in 8D and RCA analyses.
- Work closely with internal and external customers to provide technical support and resolve equipment issues.
- Manage tooling and machining design and ensure conformance to drawings and specifications.
- Analyze process flow diagrams, equipment spacing, and assembly methods to identify optimization opportunities.
- Apply ergonomic and machine-safety standards in equipment design and layout.
- Lead team meetings, take initiative on projects, and mentor new maintenance personnel.
- Assess shift maintenance needs and convert weaknesses into strengths through targeted actions.
- Promote and build high-performance maintenance teams; maintain a strong sense of ownership and urgency to work effectively under pressure.
Experiencia y requisitos
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in maintenance and automation engineering.
- Solid knowledge and practical experience with Lean manufacturing practices (Kanban, Poka-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping).
- Strong project management skills and experience coordinating technical projects.
- Proficient in PLCs, control circuits, power circuits, machine vision systems, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics.
- Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and MS Office suite.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Design and application knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards.
- Ability to read and create technical drawings and specifications.
- Intermediate-advanced English (spoken and written).

Working Conditions
