We are seeking an EHS Engineer responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Environmental, Health, Safety, and Occupational Health programs while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, corporate standards, and ISO 14001 requirements.

The EHS Engineer will promote a strong safety culture, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure a safe workplace, protect employees, and minimize the environmental impact of company operations.


Main Activities:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, Safety, and Occupational Health regulations and legal requirements.
  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Environmental Management System according to ISO 14001 standards.
  • Coordinate internal audits, inspections, and follow up on corrective actions resulting from audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Manage environmental permits, licenses, and regulatory procedures with government agencies (STPS, SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, COFEPRIS, and other applicable authorities).
  • Develop and implement accident prevention programs, chemical safety procedures, and emergency response plans.
  • Coordinate emergency drills and ensure employee preparedness for emergency situations.
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs, including proper handling, recycling, reuse, and disposal practices.
  • Develop and deliver Environmental, Health, and Safety training programs for employees at all organizational levels.
  • Monitor EHS performance indicators (KPIs) and provide improvement recommendations to management.
  • Conduct incident and accident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and standards during daily operations.
  • Coordinate EHS projects and initiatives focused on strengthening safety culture and sustainability.
  • Work collaboratively with different departments to achieve EHS objectives and promote continuous improvement across operations.

Experiencia y requisitos

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar EHS position, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  • Experience as an ISO 14001 Internal Auditor is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience managing regulatory procedures and government requirements (STPS, SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, COFEPRIS, and other applicable authorities).
  • Experience in environmental programs, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, chemical handling, and emergency response procedures.
  • Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs for employees at different organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Intermediate English proficiency (approximately 60% or higher).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and implement corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • AutoCAD knowledge is desirable.
