The Foreign Trade & Customs Specialist is responsible for managing and ensuring full compliance with Mexican foreign trade regulations and customs processes. This role oversees the company’s import and export operations under the IMMEX program, ensuring legal compliance, operational continuity, and effective coordination with customs brokers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with Mexican
Customs Law (Ley Aduanera), Foreign Trade Law, and applicable regulations.
Manage and ensure compliance with IMMEX program requirements.
Monitor and interpret changes in foreign trade regulations, including SAT, Secretaría de Economía, and customs authorities.
Ensure compliance with USMCA (T-MEC) requirements when applicable.
Import & Export Operations·
Manage daily import and export operations in coordination with Mexican and U.S. customs brokers.
Coordinate with carriers,
freight forwarders, and logistics providers.
Ensure timely customs clearance and border crossing operations.
Documentation & Regulatory Control
Prepare, review, and control customs documentation (pedimentos, invoices, certificates of origin, manifests, etc.).
Ensure correct tariff classification, valuation, and origin determination of goods.
Maintain accurate foreign trade records and documentation.
IMMEX & Inventory Control
Manage inventory control under
IMMEX requirements.
Ensure reconciliation between physical inventory and system records.
Maintain traceability of imported and exported materials.
Manage foreign trade records in
ERP/foreign trade systems (Millennium preferred)
