Descripción y detalle de las actividades

  • Coordinate and work closely with the corporate compliance and legal team
  • Lead the site to ensure compliance in all aspects of certifications and permits in Mexico, including VAT-IEPS, IMMEX, AFAC, and others applicable to ensure business continuity.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of BOMs in the Annex 24 systems
  • Cross-functional collaboration (working with manufacturing, engineering, and procurement teams) to identify and correct inaccuracies in BOMs, classifications, part number entries, etc.
  • Ensure that accurate information is entered and maintained in the customs inventory control system.
  • Preparation, review, and submission of Annex 30 reports.
  • Support logistics personnel in maintaining the best practices for import and export compliance records.
  • Responsible for post-clearance auditing to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain and audit CTPAT certification requirements.
  • Follow up on special customs operations, including customs regime changes, temporary import regularizations, and waste management processes.
  • Detect, mitigate, and eliminate customs risks to avoid fines and penalties.
  • Assess emerging compliance issues with management to identify the potential impact of future laws and regulations on the organization.
  • Track and report compliance KPIs
  • Improve and automate existing processes to support day-to-day customs compliance tasks

Experiencia y requisitos

  • Bachelor’s degree in international trade (Customs & Trade compliance) or International Business
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in maquiladora operations, IMMEX program compliance, Annex 24/30 controls and customs related inventory management.
  • Experienced with the EAR, ITAR, US Customs Regulations preferred.
  • Proven ability to use USCBP ACE systems for understanding import and export data and download reports for dissemination to the sites as necessary.
  • Updated in Mexican Customs Laws and related regulations
  • Familiar with Customs Software I-Xport (desirable)
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Intermediate English (Written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Team oriented mindset and a preventive compliance approach.
