Summary:

Under the direction of a Project Engineer, the senior electrical engineer will work within a multidisciplinary team for the development and production of custom displays and related products.

You will perform hands-on development of new designs during the development phases, along with other related activities such as prototype follow-ups, verification tests, troubleshooting, test setups, qualification testing, documentations, etc You will also provide hardware, software,

firmware support, documentation for existing products.


Job duties: 

  • Design and document electronics circuits for aerospace and defense display products
  • Define hardware architectures, design and develop electronic circuits and PCB layouts, document appropriate design verification and validation tests procedures, and perform design verification activities
  • Perform calculations, including thermal analysis of circuits, power, impedance, de-rating, mean-time between failures, and detailed, component-level FMEA  
  • Generate or modify VHDL code for the custom functionality of the FPGA
  • Generate or modify C code for embedded microcontroller-based circuits.
  • Provide technical solutions for the selection of electronic components for new and existing products
  • Design and document an electronic test environment for display products
  • Work with suppliers and provide technical guidance to manufacture circuit assemblies
  • Identify and resolve hardware issues with component obsolescence and the manufacturability of display products components;
  • Build prototype parts, cables, and test fixtures
  • Create technical documentation and user manuals.
  • Assign part numbers for drawings, documents, and generate Bill of Materials (BOMs)  
  • Prepare, incorporate, and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • Support and troubleshoot complex electronic failures

Experiencia y requisitos

Qualifications: Skills, education, and experience requirements: 

  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering;  
  2. ·Bilingual English: spoken and written
  3. Minimum of ten (5 + ) years of experience;
  4. Visa for travel to the US 
  5. May have to travel occasionally to the US and Canada

  • Design of analog/digital circuits, power supply, microcontrollers, debugging tools, and LCDs (characters/graphics, monochrome/color);  
  • Hardware architecture of electronic systems and integrated MMI applications;
  • Experience in analyzing safety and reliability requirements;  
  • Ability to use basic electronic test equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and function generators, etc.

 

Asset: 

  •  High-speed video processing  FPGA (VHDL), “C” programming language
  • Familiar with the development of Operating Systems and embedded software, RTO
  • C/C++ Programming Language; experience
  • With Python is a plus
  • Experience with electromagnetic interference EXPOSED TO
  • Ability to solder and use prototyping tools EXPOSED TO (1206 -QFL
  • Experience with Mentor PADS Schematic and Layout software is a plus
  • IPC Standards
  • Background of military & Aerospace standards with direct experience to meet RTCA/DO-160 Environmental Testing, MIL-TSD-810, and MIL-STD-461, and military standards
  • Effective written/verbal communication skills; computing skills
  • (Windows, Microsoft Office)
