Overview of Role

  • We are seeking a Senior Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team and support the company’s import and export activities in alignment with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires knowledge of customs classification, trade regulations, and compliance processes, with a primary focus on the United States, Canada, and Mexico. As our operations expand, this position also offers the opportunity to broaden into European and global trade compliance responsibilities.
  • We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented professional who can thrive in a dynamic global trade environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and eager to grow into a broader global trade compliance role as the company continues to expand.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate product classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) for the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, free trade agreements (e.g., USMCA), and other applicable trade rules in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain complete and accurate trade compliance documentation.
  • Support audits, internal reviews, and recordkeeping requirements related to customs compliance.
  • Monitor, interpret, and clearly communicate updates in trade laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with logistics, supply chain, legal, and business teams to proactively address compliance issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on trade compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of processes that will support future European and global compliance initiatives.

Experiencia y requisitos

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Law, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in trade compliance, import/export operations, or customs classification.
  • Strong knowledge of HTS classification for the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
  • Familiarity with customs regulations, trade agreements, and compliance documentation requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (data management, pivot tables, formulas).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, prioritize effectively, and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of European or global trade compliance regulations.
  • Experience with trade management or compliance software.
  • Additional language skills beyond English.
