- Coordinate and direct manufacturing operations of the Welding Department to meet daily production goals.
- Monitor supply levels and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
- Oversee daily completion of PP’s, closing orders of material subs
- Read, interpret and transmit information to operators in blueprints, instruct employees on production requirements.
- Have experience with production machine fixture set-up and maintenance.
- Supervise and maintain discipline at the production direct level.
- Monitor and verify product quality, safety, and production L2 indicators.
- Have Safety First focus, experience with maintaining a safe shop floor environment.
- Familiar with TAKT and labor hours/production output reporting.
- Directly responsible for the quality of welding finished products produced through proper administration of the company’s Quality Assurance Program within the area of responsibility. Promptly notifies management of any observed quality issues regardless of the area produced.
- Continually foster and support a continuous improvement environment. Immediately respond to problems within area of responsibility and take a lead role in problem-solving activities to reduce or eliminate reoccurrence.
- Perform daily Gemba walks to see for Normal to Abnormal conditions and report and take actions.
- Provide candid feedback to direct employees in efficiency, safety, cadence, reports.
- Participate in kaizen events with other staff members.
- Collaborate in a very effective way with other department peers.
- Be always focused on Objectives and KPI’s adherence.
- Open criteria to implement lean concept to the production floor.
- Ability to reduce headcount personnel by identifying and eliminating nonvalue added operations.
Experiencia y requisitos
- Completion of Degree/vocational program a plus.
- Bilingual preferred but not required.
- Minimum 2+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Experience working with shears, press brakes, small tools, CNC machining is a plus.
- Strong people skills and ability to organizational ability required.
- Prior experience working with 5S and lean manufacturing techniques.
