The Safety & Hygiene Leader is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and hygiene programs within the aerospace manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with local, federal, and international regulations, as well as adherence to aerospace industry standards. The Safety & Hygiene Leader promotes a culture of safety, conducts risk assessments, coordinates training, and leads continuous improvement initiatives to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.


  • Develop, implement, and oversee workplace safety, hygiene, and environmental programs aligned with ISO 45001, AS9100, and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to prevent workplace accidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain compliance with aerospace industry standards and customer-specific requirements related to safety and hygiene.
  • Lead safety training initiatives, including emergency response, PPE use, lockout/tagout (LOTO), chemical handling, ergonomics, and safe manufacturing practices.
  • Manage industrial hygiene programs, including air quality monitoring, noise exposure assessments, and hazardous materials management.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness plans, drills, and response teams.
  • Track, analyze, and report safety performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend improvement strategies.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into engineering, production, and maintenance processes.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through communication, coaching, and behavior‑based safety initiatives.

Experiencia y requisitos

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of NOM standards (if applicable), ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and AS9100 requirements.
  • Fully proficient in English (spoken and written), with the ability to communicate effectively with U.S.-based corporate stakeholders and support bilingual documentation and training as needed.
  • Certifications such as CIH, CSP, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Experience conducting safety training and incident investigations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
