We are looking for a Compliance Engineer I – Design to support product compliance throughout the design and development process, ensuring our products meet applicable regulatory, safety, certification, and customer requirements.
🎯 What will you do?
✔️ Support compliance activities for new product development, product modifications, and existing product certifications.
✔️ Review product designs, drawings, specifications, components, and technical documentation to identify compliance requirements.
✔️ Support compliance with applicable UL, NSF, DOE, EPA, ASHRAE, IEC, and other relevant industry standards and regulations.
✔️ Coordinate product testing and certification activities with internal laboratories and external certification agencies.
✔️ Support Design Engineers in identifying and incorporating compliance requirements throughout the design and development process.
✔️ Review engineering changes and evaluate their potential impact on product certifications and regulatory requirements.
✔️ Maintain compliance documentation, technical files, test reports, certificates, and regulatory records.
✔️ Support investigations and resolution of compliance issues identified during testing, certification, manufacturing, or field activities.
✔️ Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams on component or material changes that may affect product compliance.
✔️ Participate in design reviews, compliance assessments, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experiencia y requisitos
🧾 Requirements:
✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering field.
✔️ 1–3 years of experience in Engineering, Product Design, Product Compliance, Testing, Certification, or a related manufacturing environment.
✔️ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
✔️ Basic knowledge of product safety, regulatory compliance, electrical and mechanical systems.
✔️ Familiarity with product testing, validation, engineering changes, and technical documentation.
✔️ Knowledge of UL standards and certification processes is preferred.
✔️ Experience in the refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, appliance, or metal-mechanical industry is preferred.
✔️ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
✔️ Experience with PLM, ERP, SAP, Oracle, or similar engineering systems is preferred.
✔️ English: Intermediate to advanced, with the ability to read and interpret technical standards, specifications, test reports, and engineering documentation.
✔️ Spanish: Fluent.
